partly disassembled 8204
Dam buzzing noise was really starting to get to me so i decided to open this up and see what made it work.
Step one: take out all the screws on the bottom Step two: Take the screws out from the hindges. Step Three: Tilt lid backwards till its almost in line with the laptop Step Four: Above the Del button there is a small hole, insert flathead screwdriver or penknife and prise it open by pushing the knife/screwdriver upward. Step Five: Repeate the exercise for all the holes above the keyboard. Step Six: There are 2 latches on either side of the keyboard, next to the Del and the Esc, keep lifting the pannel and eventually it will pop off. Step Seven: Remove screws holding the keyboard in place Step Eight: Pull keyboard out and remove the cable. Step Nine: Remove cable for top pannel. Thats as far as i got and i couldn't see the Choke coil. Keyboard <--- Yes that is my toe Pannel With no keyboard Where i need to get to Where the keyboard attaches to

naa not yet. Will probably try again tonight.. Hope i can do it without removing the heatsink.
Heh It looks like to get to where i want i need to remove the Screen totaly from the bottom bit, which i'm not looking forward to. But it should be fairly easy now as a kind friend handed me the service manual.. Looks complicated with about a gazillion screws. Fud just checked the service manual and i can't seem to find on the pictures of the mainboard anything that looks like the coils... Probably going to send this back to Acer for repair ![]()
