Using M170 for 1080p DLP TV
I dont see why this would be a problem but I figured I would ask anyway. If I hook my XPS M170 up to a Samsung 1080p DLP via VGA, and browse or watch some 1080p WMV-HD content, is my laptop going to go crazy, overheat and then explode? I dont see why it would be a big deal since the regular resolution of the laptop is 1920x1200. Im asking because my desktop is no longer in the same room as my TV, so my only chance at using my Samsung for PC is my laptop. I love watching 1080p WMV-HD content, and also using my Samsung to play games at 1920x1080. Thanks in advance for any help.
EDIT - I also should note that I DONT have my XPS M170 yet. |

Don't close the lid and you will be fine.

I think you will be fine even with the lid closed as long as you aren't overclocking, and even then probably still ok because I dont think doing the WMV decoding puts that much load on the GPU.
