That is a good idea, plus my local TCF bank is offering a Nano Ipod with any new checking account or savings account opened.

i would even say ship to VERIFIED CONFIRMED members as i just got ripped by a CONFIRMED member with fraud funds. i was just leaving right now to take the pkg to ups when i checked my paypal balance to see if i got paid for a small ebay sale and saw a HUGE negative balance. i was so pissed i just had to vent and remembered this thread. but man if i would have left right now and not seen paypal till i got back i would have been MORE furious

EDIT: forgot to mention why it was neg lol. when i got paid i jumped on a dell outlet 33% off coupon i had so when the funds were taken back it put me in the whole hehe

So a sefer method would be to accept money order only?
Then the buyer is not too secure this way, is he?
I was gonna put a XFX 7900GTX EE up for sale but having second thoughts now!

Only if you throw caution to the wind.

Paypal can and does stop transfers to your bank account if they flag your account with "suspicious activity". Their idea of suspicious activity is nebulous at best.

I attempted to sell some stuff on Ebay recently and when the auction ended the buyer promptly paid me via Paypal. I initiated a transfer to my bank account and the very next day I got an email informing me that my account was flagged for "suspicious activity" and they stopped the transfer and put a hold on ALL funds in my account, including some money I already had in there.

I basically just told the buyer that I was unwilling to ship the items until Paypal unfroze my funds. The buyer contacted Paypal and told him that we were not going to continue our transaction and got his money back but my account is STILL frozen even after we both contacted Paypal and informed them that we were not going to go through with the transaction.

Paypal is utter crap. I have a Google Checkout merchant account now which gives sellers and buyers a LOT better protection.

PayPal? Or are you talking about what method period - like Money Order, Bank Cheque or PayPal?

I have been using PayPal for years and yet to have a problem. I had one, and that was my own doing

Method period.
Best method that won't put the seller at risk, or the buyers think the seller is attempting a scam.

That's tricky. Money Order is the safest for the seller. Buyer may feel cheated if things go wrong and you don't move fast enough.

Best way? Paypal. Once paid, take out the funds and ship the item. Cover with insurance, tracking and or signature confirmation if necessary. Build this into the shipping charges.

Never failed me yet
