He took an average from another 'similar' laptop. The m285-E is not yet in consumers hands (ive ordered one... ship date is june 20th.... sigh). So i guess the score may be overestimated a tad.

just FYI, my Quanta MW1 (4:3 ratio version of the KN1 see sig for specs) got 2747 on 3Dmark 05. I must say that's pretty good isn't it?

yes, that's true! i'll color 3DMark05 score differently for those notebooks/tabletpcs which are a "guess" based on similar ones.... for now only two scores are a "guess", this Gateway M285-E TabletPC (similar is Toshiba A6 notebook) and new FSC notebook, since they are not in users hands yet.... so ZGold550, when you get it, could you please let us know 3DMark05 score without o/c??? (and with o/c if you gonna try it...)

p.s. will add suggested notebooks to the chart (my) tomorrow....

just as an update i had the Acer 5672 2GB model and i was able to get 1735 3d05 marks but only after completly wiping all partitions, installed a fresh copy of XP pro, disable all garbage services, tweaking 3d settings etc but did NOT OC any component. with just turning off the acer crap services i got 1650 3dmarks so whats listed is what you will get if you leave the original os install on.

THis post just makes me want an Acer 8204 more than ever.
