Got my D620... Can check my mini-review in Dell's Review and Benchmark section.

While my screen IS NOT grainy, you can see light leakage particurlarly from the bottom and noticeably around the sides. BTW, system is from the Outlet and labelled Cert Refurb.

Does Dell include smartcards with the system?

BTW, can I install internal bluetooth myself or would I be better of getting the USB version?

In my opinion, you'd be better of getting the Dell Truemobile BT 350 module.
I've had it on several of my dell laptops and it works fairly well. The new Toshiba v4 stack isn't too bad either. Seems to work fine with my GPS, headset and logitech mouse. They go for around $30 on ebay.
You can install it yourself (download the service manual from Dell's site). I believe you need to open the top cage cover over the keyboard (fairly simple) in order to get to the unit.
Lastly, you don't have to worry about an external dongle and potential breakage of it.

Hi Ronin,

Can you run a passmark performance test on your D620 and save the baseline results and post them on here? The program is free frow www.passmark.com and it would really help me in deciding whether or not it's worth me upgrading our fleet of D600's

Thanks,

How do you upload the results to this site. I cannot seem to find how to add attachments?

The Passmark rating is 483.2 but I didn't run the CD ROM test.

I am debating between teh D820 and D620, I do not really travel, but I wanted something lighter, Please look at my Inspiron 9300 Specs and let me know if the 256 Quadro in the D620 is better than my 9300 or do I have to go D820 512 MB QUadro to see a difference.

U'm if someone could tell me this it would be nice....
I have a D620 with the specs below. I can't upgrade the warrenty because it was a system exchange and the 4 years are up. I would like to get a M1210 with complete care, and around the same specs, any advice?

D620
2.0 Core Duo
1.0 2x512
DVD +/- RW
XP Pro

... think i could sell it on ebay and make 1200 or so?
Then would you buy a m1210 on ebay?
Or how would you go upon buying a m1210, i only want to spend 300-600 more than what i sell the d620 for.... ( and i need that graphics card + 3 yr complete care!)
Any advice?

Thanks Titanium.

There is a way to upload but god knows how you do it - maybe you need to be a long established member or something. Thanks for the total passmark score, which I have to say, far exceeds what I was expecting. Even a current D610 with ATI x300 only gets 287 on the rating. I think I can safely say that I will be upgrading the laptops then!

Thanks again.

LOvely review. Since deciding to buy a laptop of my own, I've spent hours on this forum (Oy, glad to be here) and most of the time.. ehee.. in this very thread. So now, finally.. I've gotten the facts straight. Samsung screen on d620 = good WOuld those who already have a d620 be kind enough and enlighten the rest of us about the gaming performance on d620? Which games have you tried and how was the performance (gta san andreas anyone)? Thanks for the great review.

just got of the phone with dell

I just got off the phone, boy :@:@. So finally I managed to get him to ship out a LCD to me, great!! and he said he would make sure it was samsung!! greatx2!!!. Only problem is I asked him for instructions on how to do it. He said he didnt know and couldnt tell me. Fine!, then I asked him if he could mail out instructions? he said he will but he wont guarantee it?? ok wtf?. Then I said I will figure it out myself, or will request a tech to do it. I reallyne dont want to request a tech,

If anyone can go through the steps with me throughly that would be great!!.

Hi RoRO,
Thanks I left you some rep. Also since we are on this whole notebook screen topic.

1) How hard is it to change it? I never done it before is it easy for something to go wrong? or is it confusing?
2) Will I void any warranty by doing this?
3) what tools should I have?
4) how long does it usually take.

Can't wait for my sammy screen to come, AUO brand is just garbage, I now know why people say its grainy.
