He said he could give me a discount and get it down to $567. He also told me there was an Extreme Edition part number for near $700... That's crazy.

I just called up as an e1705 user, I did not say I owned a 1710 or anything like that. I'm not sure what difference it would have made though.

I can confirm the YF227 as I just received mine today. Waiting on the power supply. I did not ask about the extreme edition. I just asked for one and got it for $525 including shipping.

Sarkoa, is this the mobile edition for the XPS1710? Do you have an e1705 or a 1710? Thanks.

Tried, no dice. They said they don't have it. Extreme edition implies he was talking about the desktop part.

I called spare parts and asked. That's all I did. I will say this, I spoke with a rep in the US. Most of the time I get someone in another country.

Thanks, didn't happen to catch the dell rep's extension did you? I tried again and the rep quoted a price of $1000. What exactly did you say when you talked to the rep?

I said I was looking for video upgrade options for my laptop. The rep checked and said the only thing available was a 256mb that was the same as what I already had. I said what about part number yf227 (not my exact words but I asked for it by part number). He put me on hold, came back and told me the price. I ordered. By the way Dell needs to get ride of DHL. As of this order I've sent 2 letters to the President of DHL and am writting a letter to Dell. This time, the driver wanted me to meet her about 5 miles away from my house to pick up my package.

As for the other part number, I have no idea about an extreme edition. I only asked for the yf227. Reps getting lax? Different call center? Not sure what it was but I can tell you that I think Dell's giving up a heck of a market by by not selling these cards at a decent price.

Does anyone know where i can get the geforce go 7900gs and if there are any other cards other than the radeon x1400 that are compatible for upgrade for the e1705, the Geforce 7900GTX is just too expensive for me. Thanks to anyone who helps me.
