AntiLogic is a n00b, but everyone loves n00bs!
Motherboard brand/type on FX7?

Im just wondering... What brand/type of motherboard is in the FX7? I know its a VIA chipset, but im just wondering what the specefics are, 'cos I need it to configure Motherboard Monitor. I want to install tht to run temp monitors through Desktop Sidebar. If it wasn't for that, I would just use the Getthermal utility...

Please help

Thx, AntiLogic

im not sure what it is on fx7 but on the ex7 it is a clevo motherboard. however i have found that it has a lot of similarities with some asus boards including the clock generator on the p5gdi ultra (if you were to use setfsb).
using this as a rule of thumb if you were to use any other program to boost preformance using a clock generating utility somewhere in the ballpark of using a asus motherboard with p5 at the beginning should yeald good results.then again ex7 and fx7 might use diferant clock generators. your best bet would be trial and error on lesser programs like clockgen and set fsb and using those results find boards with similar if not the same temp sensors and or clock generators.hope this of any help, good luck!!! these days theres not many people focusing on laptop monitoring/overclocking. .........oh yeah and by the way (im sure you already know this) tinkering with some of these programs i mentioned can and will void your waranty.

Hmm yeah, i'm awara of that. Wasnt really looking to overclock (yet) the laptop is more than capable of everything (for the moment). Thx anyway, I'll try some of the other motherboards you recommended and see whether motherboard monitor picks them up...

Thx,
