really don't want IE, but have to use it

hey guys, don't kill me for this. I need to install IE on my ubuntu dapper. Im trying to install turbo-lister (ebay listing program) and while running the installer with WINE, it says i need to install IE v5 or better. I really don't want to do this. i love my linux and would do nothing to hurt it. is there an emulator or something out there that tells wine that i have ie, or emulates it or something? or am i really going to have to install IE?

you can install ie through wine, its fine. just dont use it except for with turbolister and you'll be fine. since the spyware and all that junk won't harm linux anyway, i dont think there should be a problem.

to be honest, there is nothing wrong with runnning IE on linux. If you have to use it, you have to use it. Firefox is much better then IE, but IE dominates over some web browsers. Dillo, for example, stinks more then IE.

Have you tried user agent switcher extension to FF/Moz? I can almost get it to play nicely with our tracking software at work. Might give that a shot. I think if it's a .Net app it will most likey require IE 5+. Atleast that what happens with connectwise, the app I use.

...if you have to run IE under Linux - and, sadly, sometimes you do - go to <a href="http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/index-en.html">IEs4Linux</a>. A very nice install tool for putting IE 5.0, 5.5, or 6.5 on your box. Quick, clean, and useful.
