Great drivers! Thx!

M1710, 2.16, 2GB, 7900GTX

XTreme-G MobileForce 91.28-v2.40 (default image setting 'quality')
OC'ed 580/700=9217

XTreme-G MobileForce 91.31-v2.40 (default image setting 'quality')
OC'ed 580/700=9498

Thx penguin, It had slipped my mind about installing them that way.

Swat....no you don't have to flash your card, and in my opinion they are better than Dells drivers.

so, I'm going to say that these drivers have the BEST image quality I've ever seen!! I noticed details in 3dmark05 that I've never seen before. I lost a few points, but the IQ is simply amazing. colours are vibrant and everything comes to life.

So, is this a confirmed issue? The installer is broken?

All I did was point to the right directory when updating the drivers, setup.exe didn't crash - it just didn't load. Not a big deal, pointing to the dir did the trick.

Ran 3dMark05 right after and got pretty much the same score (within a 10 pt difference) so I'm happy.

Good job on the drivers!

Swat did you remove the dell drivers first. It may not matter but just in case your not sure for next time....go to Control panel/ add/remove programs/select 'nvidia'

Then reboot into safe mode (F8) and run a program called driver cleaner pro which you should download. Just select 'nvidia' then clean. This makes sure that all the traces of old drivers are removed.

Boot back into windows and then install new drivers.

Yup. Uninstalled drivers, safe mode, driver cleaned, installed. Read the FAQ on the site to make sure first

I think what he meant was,

After uninstalling and cleaning drivers in safe mode.............when you boot back into windows, the 'new hardware found' pops up. Just tell it to look in the Xtreme-g folder you extracted the drivers to. Then it will install the drivers that way. This method can be used instead of running the setup.exe

Is that equivalent to the method of running setup.exe? Setup.exe also installs some services, configures a few startup tasks, etc. Is all of this done with the other method as well?

But, independent of that, if setup.exe does not run, it still means that the package Tony offers for download right now is broken.

Well using the method other than setup.exe, It still did install the control panel etc. and I don't notice anything missing and the drivers r running great.
True it still means that the download package is broken.

Looks like you might be on to something Pirx, setup.exe didn't work, but I'm thinking it was needed for something. Here's what I get when I bootup:

I get the same thing at startup, plus at shutdown, I get a nvc32svc.exe crash dialog...back to the stock Dell drivers.

From what I understand, the error is because these drivers have been set to detect SLI cards aswell. Its just saying that SLI is disabled because basically you don't have a SLI card. It doesn't appear to effect performance at all.

I do not get the the nvc32svc.exe error like you though lancorp.
