Had a $100 Dell coupon, bought a spare battery, got the wrong battery.....

It seems their assecories site doesn't know the M170 stuff doesn't work on the M1710.

I've set up the return, but I still need a spare battery. Anyone know what model # it is for the M1710 and if their is an extended life battery?

I got the $100 coupon for having upgraded my warranty

here is the battery you need
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...9&sku=310-6322

I find it easier to use the search feature on the dell page instead of going thru the "select model" feature

90 min on the phone, had to use vacation time since I was at work (I had given myself an hour for the call, just to get the coupon back so I could get the right battery. I went through 7 transfers. They's going to just give me the right one now and not charge me the $40 difference.)

As far as I know, it IS the same battery. It is a standard 9-cell battery, and has the same shape, a little rubber foot, and a green-light battery monitor gauge. Anybody here can correct me if I'm wrong.

Sounds like an XPS 1 battery.
