About to buy: Lenovo 3000 N100, should I do it?

I'm about to buy this baby, just want to know if anyone has anything good or bad to say about it...

It's OK if you are really sure you want a 15.4". To be honest, my personal preference when it comes to notebook is "the smaller the better, down to 12 in."

If it was me, I would spend a bit more (like $80-100) and get a Compaq 14" brightview, turion X2...

Good Deal, go for it, or you can check out the HP dv5000t, very nice laptop aswell, in my opinion.

There is always the V2000 for like $150 less if you don't mind the single core. It's white with a black cover though (not my style)...

There are a lot of good budget 14"s out there. However, for some reason, I like the looks of the HPs.

NO GO!

I've read numerous articles that say that the Thinkpad line is top notch (i have an IBM Thinkpad) however the lower end N series laptops do lack quality in terms of build

The N100 feels very good and it's becoming very popular.
The big problem is the sound, it's terrible. I'm returning it because of that.
Do you think spending more for the thinkpad is worth it?
What's the difference between the T and the R series?
What do you think about toshiba (M100) is it bad quality?

Thank you
