Not sure about the M1705. I am hoping someone who knows more about these cards can give us more information.

mrkool has all your basemrkool has all your base
1710 ships with a dual pipe. Forum seller balthazar has a post in for sale section he has the dual heat pipe 7900s in stock. Basically you can only get a dual pipe if you have a 1710 bec in a normal 1705 you will have to modiy your chasis a bit to fit the 2nd heat pipe.

so all 1710 come with dual pipe and all 1705 have a single pipe.

I would guess not because the 7900 gs I was sent to put in my XPS gen 2, was a single pipe, makes me happy my M1710 will have a dual pipe though =)

One of the Dell part numbers for the 7900GS is:

Card,Graphics,256MB,I9400 G71 (DG008)

I believe this is the single pipe version as it is a direct replacement (drop-in, no modification necessary) for the X1400 in the E1705.

Take a look at Bal`thzar's FS Thread here: http://www.notebookforums.com/thread154626.html

He has the dual-pipe version, not sure what the PN is.

Great! At lease someone from dell is reading these forums. Maybe they will fix the things we complain about all the time.
