Oh BTW, I picked up a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook today as well. I will comment on that when I get it all set up.

Congrats on the system. The only thing that I think you should have done is made the warranty longer. The amount of money you are wrapping in the system - you might want to protect the system longer.

That being said - looks like a great rig! It is definitely great for gaming. I do Guildwars on mine all the time.

Good luck!

Thanks Rat, I went ahead and changed the warranty to 2 years and also added the disaster recovery disk. I am known to reformat my computers every once in awhile and I think the recovery disk will make that easier.

The system is in stage 5 now, so it should be shipping early next week

I think having the longer warranty is definitely a good option. Plus - most people who have problems - it happens down the road, not right away. This has been my case. I leave my notebook on 24x7 (actually all six systems in my house are that way). So extending the capability to protect your investment is never a bad option.

I got the recovery disk as well, but one thing you want to do down the road is make a new one. It saves you from having to reapply the 1,000,000 patches from Microsoft and the sort. With the dual layer, I normally set the system up completely, load my standard aps and then ghost it. Then when I do a future reload, I do the process again. Takes some additional time, but I have a more recent recovery disk to use.

Congrats again!

Hehe I was going to type in the exact same thing, image your drive after everything is all happy, installed and patched then tweaked. One thing I would add is to get Acronis True Image, it is truly an incredibly useful program for this. norton ghost "works", but hey it's norton , teh king of bloatware and liable to goober your puter I've seen/heard about it many many times.

Nice machine, should run nice, I am still waiting on mine to come. I thought about going with the CX7 but wanted more power so ordered the EX7. Let us know how you like it when it comes in.

Yeah. I have been using True Image at home. It is also good for capturing images of other computers and transferring them to a shared drive - which is something I do more of.

Dragon- the CX7 is a great combination of a lower weight (8.3 w/battery), and less heat while still being damn fast, you can get up the t2600 which iirc is about the speed of a 3.7ghz p4. The core duo also allows for very easy cpu throttling to save battery but is ready to rock when needed.
