tripz1196 - Well, I have 2 m5750 batteries. One that came with it, and the additional one that I purchased with my order. And I've used both batteries until they died at least twice, once for each on my way to Boston, and once for each on the way back to NY. I have absolutely no problems with the batteries, and I've played around with the Power Play options a few times. So I guess you might be the only one with the problem. But I'm sure AW customer support can help you if anything else goes wrong. They were great when I asked for a refund for my Respawn, since it came to me loose in the case, thus giving it a lot of scratches and is therefore unusable . But it was painless talking to CS. BESIDES one thing....the person I was talking to said he had a problem with processing something on his computer and said "Umm...please hold on a second sir, it seems that my computer isn't working...my computer's really slow...sorry about that sir...hehe" Sorta strange since they are a computer manufacturer of high perfomance gaming pc's and all. But still got it all done in a minute or two after putting me on hold and making me listen to some crappy music

Dukefrukem - I'm sure that mine and yours and everyone elses computer would get better scores if we all got new merom processors. But the m5750 still does great and all games, as far as I'm concerned

They sent me a new one for free At first they said I could get a refund but I wanted the Respawn. Eventually they sent a new one out. Don't know how but they did it.

I was reading something about the Merom's having a higher TDP. That can't be good in heat management but apparently it is quicker than the Yonah and gets processes done quicker? Don't know the exact complications that would cause if some of us decided to upgrade our procs but I don't think a little bit of extra heat wouldn't cause any problems especially since the Core architecture is better in heat management than the past couple processors based on the aging NetBurst design...Prescott was a disaster in my opinion... (I still love my 2.4C Northwood though even though my parents use it now )

Man...I really hope the new battery fixes the issue. I found out that I'll need to actually lug this beast to an from class 2 out of 5 days of the week due to massive amt of notes and I can't have it shutting on and off whenever it feels like it. Worst I can think of is something on the motherboard being faulty like a capacitor but I'm not going to worry about that until I get the new batt....

Trips i hope the new battery works for you. Shutting off in class while taken notes is the worst that can happen.
I forgot to charge my battery 1 day, taken notes, after 20 mins computer shuts off. O how much fun that upcoming test was!

PS:Make sure its not a sony battery to! Sony batteries = 100 pounds WW2 bombs

I have a feeling its a capacitor on the motherboard but like I said earlier I won't go to that yet until I try the new batt. I wonder if AW would do on-site service for a mobo swap on my laptop i really don't want to send it in...

Well even if you do have to send in your computer, you got a free battery out of it. Hopyfully just somthings wrong with the battery, if not hopefully they can replace your mobo at your house.

OR you could carry a UPS around and have your laptop plugged into it threw the school day

Im very disappointed with those benchmark scores. the 7800s and 7900s in laptops get around 1500-2500 higher in 3dmark06 which is huge! -.- ATI has been failing me these days.

Uhh...yeah...they're also running SLI (mALX or m9700) and running a processor that is "better" suited for games (please don't flame me Intel boys =D). Now if your talking about DESKTOP processors thats a whole different game in my opinion ever since Core2 was released a week or so ago; Conroe beats the shit out of the current FX-62 (i think that's the fastest AMD right now)

BTW: BIOS update to 1.15 MIGHT have fixed the random reboots for any of you who had some issues similar to mine and to future readers of this thread. I'll post another update after running on battery with different load levels over the next couple days. As with the PowerPlay issue, I came to the conclusion that the memory timings/latency settings for the particular "Balanced" setting can't be supported and results in that BSOD saying "Memory parity error" (maybe I got a batch with bad RAM chips?)...I'll deal with that later since everything else on the laptop seems to be working now...
