Which Graphic Card do u recommend in the C/Dock II, for DVI? i8200 now a C840 Clone
Hi im new to this forum but not a n00b to forums. So naturally i've used the "Search" button, read the 'Stickys' and of course the FAQ's. I almost merged this with a thread on dual Monitors but that is not exactly what i'm looking for, with that said, my dilemma is a follows:
I have an i8200 and will be cloning it to be a C840 latitude via bios, to use the c/dock II. I am looking for Graphic cards. Here's, what I've come up with from reading lots of Dell Forums posts . My main concern is I want to hook up my DELL 2005FPW via DVI. Thanx in advance http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130197 If I've read correct, the 1st link the card won't work cause its Interface is AGP and the C/Dock II will only allow a certain type of PCI. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ubmit=Property http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...pe=rb#moreinfo http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...641&pfp=BROWSE Here's a reply I got from a Dell Moderator: Quote:

I wouldn't know about which video cards work in the CDock. I used the PCI slots in my CDock for a gigabit ethernet card and sound card....(The dock's Speaker jack wouldn't work).
But yes, I've been told 3D Cards don't work in the CDock. And I've had people who alleged they did work. I'd just say your mileage may vary.

I did hack my i8200 into a C840. That step is a given since the Inspiron BIOS locks you out of a Latitude Dock. and I do have a CDock II I'm just lazy and didn't make the distinction.
