ATI Radeon Xpress 200M

quick question......i've got the above video card in my laptop dv8000z. i know it has 128mb dedicated memory, and i've set in the bios to have an additional 128 shared for a total of 256mb on the card. i read however that sometimes more memory on a card like this does not always equal better performance. do you guys think i'm better with the 256, or is their some data showing what memory setup this chip runs with the best on? thanks for the information.

Memory is allocated as needed.

What I'd do is to run your benchmarks to see what works best for you.

The Xpress 200m can't take advantage of 256MB of Vram. I would leave it at 128MB dedicated. I tried the additional 128MB but it didn't affect my 3dmark or gaming performance.

There are no benchmarking apps on the machine as shipped.

3dmark05 of 721... sounds about right...

How about taking a minute or so to post your system's spec's and the scores in this thread:

http://www.notebookforums.com/thread157799.html, along with your T43 scores, spec's.
