E1705/9400: Dell replaced 7800go with 7900gs: Get only 3.442 points in 3DMark05!!!
Oh my god, how happy i was when the technican came to replace my 7800go with a 7900gs. Having downloaded and installed the Dell driver i ran 3Dmark05 to check performance.
It came like it had to.... i reached 3.442 Points only !!! It`s 3DMark05, not 06!!! I uninstalled the former driver in advance, then installed the new one, in Power Mizer everything is max. performance. Can u help? Dr. Doom |

65 or 90W adapter? The 65W will put your system in some slow-mode.
If not, I would suggest you use drivercleaner and get rid of everything nvidia, and install the 7900GS driver again.

I agree that it could be a driver issue. Do the DC-Pro safe-mode remove thing and then see if that helps. Good luck

In the same line of fry-man's response, I'm not sure if it's still the same, but I seem to recall on the old Inspiron line, if you booted up on battery and THEN plugged the adapter in, it would remain at the lowest speed setting. That's with an Inspiron 4150, in the old days...
Did you get a brand new card or a refurb one? It could be that it's been overclocked too much, I've seen this when I pushed the clocks too high on my 7900GS. Scores would simply drop to heck... ![]()

You didn't put it into sleep mode then woke it, before running the benchmark - right?
That makes my laptop run the games much worse.
