Have you got some schedule / timetable for availability of the fix for F3Ja ?
And, how long was it for other models for which you get new bios, between request and delivery ?

I request the BIOS fix for V1J and F3JA, but I was told by Asus North America that we probably won't receive the BIOS from them since it's not a North America model, but I'll let you guys know the status of it.

Ken, help help, we need your help !

I tried twice to contact technical support of ASUS France.
I sent them a descrption of the problem, with a link to this thread, telling them
- the issue is recognized by ASUS
- and ASUS is able to solve it
since ASUS did solve it for some laptops models in the US.

Unfortunately, I got an answer on "how to flash the BIOS" !

I replied that it was NOT my question, and redevelopping all arguments to ask from ASUS a new BIOS.

A second time, almost the same answer on how to flash BIOS (and moreover, even the explanation is not correct....)

So, if you are not able to receive by yourself the new BIOS from ASUS, could you please give us the coordinates of people you are in contact with in ASUS, and a summarize of arguments you developped to convince them that
1 - it's a bug
2 - they must solve it
3 - they can solve it.

1 - it's a bug : I told them already and they know it.
2 - they must solve it : They will and they are working on it.
3 - they can solve it. : Yes just add the new VGA BIOS into the original BIOS just like what they did to W3J and S/Z96J.

I just don't know the status of it, but if I hear anything from them I'll let you know.

Hi guys, I'm also an owner of this V1J, the glossy WXGA screen version one. And yes, it's grainy and the colors are terrible.

My retailer has warned me about this when I purchased it, but they promised that ASUS will fix (at least) the grainness problem.

However while I'm browsing to find a solution to this, I find reviews on V1Js with non glossy WSXGA+ screens (ooh if only I could find one). They say the screen is fantastic. Does it mean that those lappies are not affected by this grainness issue? Is it the panel that cannot be driven by X1600? Because I tested the VGA out on a flat panel, it's not grainy at all, and the sharp colors make me shocked on how terrible V1J screen is.

...and I used to be an owner of Fujitsu N3510, a lappie with one of the best screens around... now I miss my old lappie that heated itself to death T_T
