Hi guys,
I'm looking at buying a new laptop (in India) with the following considerations: 1. Mainly for personal software development, internet and entertainment use (listening to music, watching DVD's etc). 2. Minimum 1.6 Ghz Intel Code Duo processor 3. Minimum 512MB RAM 4. 15.4" wide-screen display 5. Minimum 60 GB HDD 6. Must be WiFi enabled 7. Budget or Mid-range So far, I've found the Dell Inspiron 6400, HP Pavilion dv6114tx and Toshiba Tecra A8 models to be close to what I'm looking for. Just wondering if you guys have any other suggestions for a reliable laptop suiting my requirements. Thanks a lot! |

If you don't mind heat and poor battery life, check out the alienware M5550. Also look into the dell E1505. Both are fantastic laptops and will get you what you want easily. Both start around the same price. And both have just about the same options. Also check the toshiba tecra A7 and the satellite A100 and A101. They should be also close to what you are looking for. I own an M5550 and it's great. Only bad thing about it is that the battery life blows....but I use mine plugged in normaly anyway, so it isn't an issue for me.

if you mind getting better battery life than the alienware and the dells. go for an HP dv9000 series or a dv6000 series notebook. they have everything you need. just customize it and they ship it to you.
