how do i install ram on my inspiron 5100?

, i
figured
it out but now my laptop freezes with the new ram and when i reset it, the screen stays
black
. When i put i of the new 512 sticks and 1 of the old 128 sticks it works fine. How can i make it work properly with both 512mb sticks?

One of the sticks is bad if puttin it in freezes up ur system, but w/o is fine. Get a new one.

Yes thats fine. Tho I would search around www.newegg.com or www.zipzoomfly.com or www.tigerdirect.com for at least new memory (if not brand name)

That's kinda expensive, and for that much money might as well get somethin new.

i got 2 512 sticks. $50 bucks is too much for that?
