Just curious... Will ddr2 667mhz ram work with MB that accepts DDr2 400/533 MHz DDR2?
is it compatiable? Will Samsung ddr2 sodimm 200 pin ram clocked at 667mhz work on a laptop Motherboard that accepts ddr2 200pin ram clocked at 400/533mhz?
will it just lower the mhz clock speed to 533mhz or whatever the processor CPU FSB speed is?

i believe it will only lower the clock speed, unlike desktops where you can adjust the voltage and ram timings...a laptop doesn't have that option...
maybe a bios update may change it, but who knows

99% of the time it will run fine but at the lower clock so 667 at 533 in your case, it can also cause some kernel problems in some rare instances. Aside from a bios update u will never see the 667, so dont waste ur money, and as far as a bios update dont cross your fingers, laptops are engineered to support the ram speeds it has and for whatever reasons....thermal, bus orbattery issues it is rare if ever that this kind of feature is included in a bios update for a laptop. Im hard pressed to come up w/ just 1 story/laptop this has ever happened to, and even then it was with the old DTR models that used desktop chips while the industry as a whole has moved almost completely to mobile chips.
Long story short, save 20 bucks or so, buy the 533 ram cuz the 667 will never be of any extra bennefit.

i agree go for the safe bet and get the 533 memory, like on teh desktops the 667 memory should underclock but theres alwasy the possibility that the mobile mobo of your system does not allow for this change to hapend or that the memory will only work at 667.
