Recommend me a fast and easy distro.

So, I am in Ubuntu, but I'm looking into another distro. I love DSL, it's fast even on a flash drive and I thought about using it full time on the HDD. Anyone do this?

Any other distros that are fast and easy to "get up and running?" Like, would you guys help me with Intel 2200BG wireless installation for the distros you recommend because I have never installed a driver in Ubuntu.

I used the Gentoo live CD and read the handbook and somehow, I don't see me in Gentoo.

Knoppix, been there.

Much thanks.

try Vectorlinux.. they pride themselves on speed and lightweightness. I am currently using Elive (based on debian justl like ubuntu) which is significantly faster than ubuntu. has great wireless support, lots of media codecs out of hte box, and not to mention latest ati and nvidia drivers

Vector is great, and they have a great flux WM pre-configured out of the box. They also use slapt-get which is the slack adaptation of apt... works like a charm.

I ended up going tback to Kubuntu from Vector, mainly because I still like having a debian based distro, but I had no real complaints about Vector.
