You are browsing within the review sections of our forums. Content within these sections reflect consumer opinions of laptops. Our admins take the best and most objective laptop reviews and index them here to create a distinct selection of quality reviews with averaged overall ratings. Many of these reviews have benchmarks attached to them which allows for users to compare their laptop's performance with others, and ultimately enables us to provide a sortable list which at a glance show the fastest laptops amongst a variety of applications (gaming, video editing, web browsing, etc...). Help us build a better laptop database by submitting your laptop review.

Alienware Aurora m9700 Review

Well after waiting all day for this baby to show up, I finally got it around 2pm. I live in an apartment so when the front gate is locked Fedex or UPS just leave and come back the next day. Most of the time I have to go pick up because im not home when they come to my house. So I waited 5hrs outside the front gate, lol, but I got it.
First off this laptop just looks amazing. When I took it out of the box i was just shocked at how good it looked. The screen just looks amazing. The only game ive ran so far is Unreal Tournament 2k4. I had no frame skipping. It ran the game flawlessly.
For dvd's the movies look really good. The only thing I didnt like was that PowerDVD did not want to display movie in full screen. I would click full screen and it would just play on 1/4 of the screen. I fixed it though.
The battery life is not that good IMO. It just lasted like an hour and a half or so. I set everything to always on so i guess thats why I get little battery life. Ima experiment with the settings and see how much more battery life I get.
I was impressed at the 3dmarks score. It scored 6160 out of the box. Not bad for one 7900gs. The pics are not good because my cousin messed up my digital camera. IDN what he did but all the pics come out with lines going across. You can see what i mean on the screen, and around the sides. It almost looks like a special effect.
