My favorite Lappy of all time 760CD

Ok heres the story I bought a used IBM 760CD on ebay for like $50 bucks in 2004 and the thing has been invalueble to me. heres the specs!

Pentium 120mhz processor with superscalar architexture

24mb ram, had 40 but I spilt a soda and it shorted one of the ram sticks

2.0 gig hard drive, really slow but gets the job done

4x CD-ROM yep thats right 600kps

12.1 inch 800x600 TFT display with 16bit colour still looks good!

trident 1mb graphics card! helps with the direct draw

A battery that still holds a charge!

Now why do I love it so much? because you can still do so much with this 10yr old machine! I will now list the many uses of this machine!

1. Nintendo, I have 700 NES roms on it and this thing makes a damn good videogame system for 50 bucks! My favorite games are SMB2, 10 yard fight, RC Pro Am, Galaga, Dig Dug, Mega Man 3, excitebike etc!

2. Sega, I have about 400 sega genesis roms on it, they don't run terribly smooth but they still are playable! here some of my top picks, Sonic 2, Gunstar Heroes, Golden Axe, Escape from Mars, Phantasy Star 4, etc

3. Great MP3 Machine, Plays all of them fine with 120 mhz of power this machine has just enought omph to get by.

4. Internet still works as it has a 33.6kps modem that is powered by the built in mwave DSP I read tons of old phrack magizines on this machine one night, it also came in handy when I was at a motel and desprately needed to check my email thing worked like a charm.

5. photos I use a old program called aldus photostyler, works great I have made many cool signatures and avatars on it pretty neat.

6. Macintosh, with the softmac suite I have used a older mac classic roms and got this beast to boot up os 7.0 ran ok but nothing special

Now this is what I can't belive is that the battery still works, I had to drive 30 miles to shop with my girlfriend, I used it the whole ride up, stayed in the car when she went to the mall, but of course got out of the car when it was time to eat! anyways It got about 1 hour 30 mins full screen brightness playing just NES games, thats pretty amazing since I have it two years.

Durability, My girlfriend has stepped on the back of the screen, It did crack the plastic alitte but no damage to the screen. I know if this was a newer laptop it would have not faired so well. I also had soda spill on it when it was in sleep mode but it fried one of the ram sticks, oh well at least the other one still works.

Now the point of this review is to show that even a old computer can still kick ass and that I have nothing better to do so might as well write something.

And there you have it! a piss poor review of the IBM Thinkpad 760CD also this thing is made in mexico! a bonus for me as I know my our brothers on the other side got paid to make this wonderful machine.
