The rev0 and rev1 refer to the GS which can be flashed with the 7900 GTX bios. I believe the 7900 GTX has only one revision (rev0?). Anyway, dont get too crazy with the flashes because you can make it worse.

Actually I can give you the autoexec now. I just need to confirm later exactly what text should be generated.

Rar out[1-6].txt, diag.rom, and [romname].rom (the rom you are gonna flash) all together and attach it here so I can have a look.

shit, this is messed. I unplugged the video cable when it was plugged in, then plugged it back in and rebooted it now I got video.

ok, I messed with it some more. put it back to a stock 7900.

seems to be working ok now.

I wonder why I couldn't oc it?

I did put some thermal paste on it. AS5, i don't think i did a good job cuz I didn't expect it to be permanent. just a quick fix test job. the plate slipped and slided around the die.

ok. I have found out the whole debauckle.

Here is how it goes.

Boy buys card off of ebay.

boy likes card. decides to overclock card. boy downloads iso with roms.

boy flashes. jauns rom for 7900gtx.

boy tries to overclock.

boy gets black screen.

I buy broken card off of ebay for 100 bux.

I flash 7900gtx original bios I found on nvision lv2g forum.

it works.

I decide to flash jauns unlocked rom 790gtxuo.rom

it works. I try to overclock 40 mhz.

I get black screen.

I beat my head against wall!

I get a flash bulb over my head.

I flash original rom again.

it works.

I use nibitor to edit rom and flash stock 7950 clocks.

it works.

it does 3dmark 06 5447 marks.

What have we learned.?

there must be another rev of 7900gtx's... cuz I have proved this to be the case.

okay, this is awesome. this card when I used nibitor and flashed it to 625.730 there is no artifacts whatso-ever!

Cool now I have an extra card.

as soon as you put Jauns bios on it. the screen goes black and stays that way until I blind flash back to stock.

either it's a rev thing with 7900 gtx that jaun used. or there is something wrong with jauns.

There arent 2 different revisions as far as I know. Both the ROM uploaded by you and the one from laptopvideo2go are the same. Exactly the same in fact.

Now if you want, I will modify the rom for you to unlock it as well as a few more changes.

I've never used any of Juan's roms so I dont know. I'd assume he did them all correctly since I have not heard too many complaints. I will make one myself later and if it messes up then I am not sure whats wrong. When I give you the rom, be sure to fc it with the command prompt to make sure theres only two bytes of difference. It will be a little redundant since I will be doing the same before sending it to you but its better to be safe than sorry in this instance.

I read somewhere on the net that before flashing your video cards, you have to uninstall any overclocking utilities and return the clock settings to factory clocks....anyways...

I happen to flash my 6800 ultra in my XPS2 A03 with the same bios but with different id string or whatnot (I saw before flashing the darn bios that the numbers flashed in dos were not the same... the firmware version i think...)...
everything was successful, and I rebooted... I did not see the dell splash screen because I went out hoping that it would be a good flash... apparently it was not... the screen was flashing with different solid colors... and it filled the entire screen... blue... then green... then black... then red etc.... then I turned off the xps2 by holding down the pwr button... after that, it wont Boot anymore!!
its not posting even after pulling out the hardrive and leaving it on the whole night with only the boot usb... I also turned off the led lights so i cant say if it was really booting....

guys i need help, i cant do any flashing becfause my system wont boot... zzpulp has the same laptop but why does his xps2 boot and mine does not?? I can only think of one thing... the SYSTEM BIOS... sir zzpulp's bios is a05 and mine is a03...

i need help on this,... so my theory is that i have to put in a good video card, upgrade the system bios to A05 and see if the system boots with the old bad flashed video card.

im also having a hard time looking for a 6800 ultra or 7800 gtx in the net and in my country... but I know one guy who has another dell xps gen2... hope he lends me his gfx card...
