HP dv2000t or Lenovo N100 Value ?

I've narrowed my decision to these two laptops. I went to the store to actually see what the dv2000t, and I really like the screen and case. However, I am not able to see a Lenovo N100 Value in person.

Both Laptops have very mixed reviews; generally good, but still there are negatives to both.

Which one would YOU suggest?

My Budget is 999.99 and below, that is why both laptops appeal to me.

if i were you, i'd buy a used toshiba

I just bought a toshiba with a celeron-m 1.7 ghz processor (almost same as a centrino, except have the L2 cache), 40 gig hdd, 1.5 gb of ddr2 ram, ati 200m 128 mb integrated video, 15" glossy widescreen in mint condition for like 410$ USD shipped.

you should keep your eyes out for a good deal around the 500$ range . . . on anandtech

Jason, no need to buy an used laptop with old technology if the guy has a budged of 1k. Maybe he wants a new machine rather than a used one, even if it saves him 500 bux.

If I had a choice between the hp or lenovo, I would go with the latter as I think lenovo has a better build quality and support. But if I had a budged of 1k and wanted a laptop, I would also look elsewhere also such as Dell or Acer or maybe Toshiba. But since u narrowed ur choice down to those 2 only, my vote is lenovo.

Alright then, Does anyone here have any better laptops to suggest that come to under 1k with a warranty ?

I'd prefer it to be under 6 lbs.
