Booting Problems

So now i've encountered this very, Very F*cking annoying problem with this laptop here.
So i turn it on, nothing happens, except....HDD light blinks, cd drive check and speakers make noise....and it just repeats.
So far i've reseated the video card 10+ time and various other semi removable parts in hopes that it would boot.
At the moment its working, but god forbid i decide to turn it off...

I sent a frantic PM to Laura@NBF and havent gotten anything back. Thats nice

I have a feeling it might need a video card replacement, but the funds just arent there...even if i still have a valid 1 year warranty.

any ideas and help would be much appreciated.

Argh this just happened to me too. Too much Burning Crusade perhaps.

I took out my aftermarket hd and memory but no luck. I'll try reseating the video card as you did and see what happens.

I was having the same problem before my 9750 just failed to boot and I had to send it back.

When I sent it back the problem turned out to be the harddrive (SATA) cable.

Works flawlessly now.

Wow... I'll have to check the SATA cable. My 9750 has ALWAYS done that, from first boot out of the box. If I let it go on long enough, it will EVENTUALLY boot successfully - most of the time. I've even posted here (TWICE, even, with no help), even RMA'd the laptop back to Sager for a different problem (video hardware failure). I mentioned the booting problem in the same problem report, but when it came back only the video card was fixed. Where can I get a replacement cable of the right dimensions without going through Sager?

About two months ago, my 9750 started to act up again. Boot problems and BOD's. Thought I had a Harddrive problem. Troubleshooting determined that the SATA cable went bad. To determine this, I removed the second harddrive and moved the boot drive up to that connector and the problems when away. I called Sager and a new one cost me $15.00.
They shipped it out and I had it in about four (4) days.

Replaced it and my machine has worked flawlessly since.
