Since these changes are built into 7900 GS/GTX bioses wouldn't you need to alter the parts in the 7950 bios? EDIT again BAH when I read it closer this is actually what you meant (I think)**

As it is right now, if you have a GPU that is 6800 Ultra or above in a dell, your card is bios locked, meaning that the only way you can overclock it is to boot to a seperate disk and flash the bios (using special bioses that you (or someone else) have created), you have to do this each and every time you want to change the clocks on your card which means writing a lot of bios files.

Now if you flash this bios to your card you won't have to flash each time you want to change your clocks. All you will need to do is go into coolbits change your clocks accordingly, click apply and voila your clocks are changed. It's a much easier and more user friendly way of increasing performance if you choose, or decreasing performance (usually also means lower temperatures) if you want to.

Warning this process can be dangerous if you don't know what it is exactly you're doing.

okay - then this won't help nor does it apply to me. I am not that high level. But thank you for breaking this down for me.

This is great. Thx.

So I have the 7900GTX. So I need to use the 79GTXUOV.ROM then to enable me to change the mem and core?

Just want to make sure first .

I am in the same boat.

I would love to have more control over overclocking with my 7900GTX but unless I missed it somewhere I didn't see that it was compatible.

I flashed it on my 7900GTX an dit works great, very good work!!!

But as my latency already was on the best setting, I'm not able to go further then 635/735 (running since I have the card) without getting artifacts or freezes, but with this bios I'm able to change the freqs each time I'm willing to without flashing the card every time.

I used the 79GTXUOV.rom

I didn't change anything on the latency myself, my card came with the best latency for the 7900GTX (same latency which sergiop posted in the other thread), but for u the rom maybe could bring better latency

Awesome job, just flashed the 790GSUOV.ROM and running smooth at 600/800. Being able to keep the GS BIOS instead of the GTX BIOS helped with a problem I was having with Windows Media Player due to the GSX Mod.

Thanks a ton for your amazing work.

Hi,
Thanks to Sergio I have found that when AC is unplugged, performance drops to about 1/20, which means, that you cannot watch a movie, play a game, etc.

I have solved this small issue, and i have updated the ISO link.

So please download the new bioses and install them again.

I hope you are having fun Oceing your cards.

Please for other bios... be patients

Merry Christmas.

Juan Luis Garrido.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Heres another kind of odd issue, maybe it's driver related. See if you can spot the problem...

How many of you guys have had the pleasure of having a nearly 90 WATT power drain? Apparantly the VGA BIOS now cannot tell the difference between AC Line operation and Battery op... Either that or its the 92.91 drivers I am using... Anybody else wanna chime in before I wipe these drivers and start again?

Mine is working as it should, no issues with the 92.77 drivers. Something is wrong with a driver or something, did you reflash to the new updated version of the ROM's?
