Amazing what you can miss in the course of a week...nice to see us moving foward though...Although I think I may be too addicted to flashing to stop now...Theres just something about the potential to break my computer that makes it so exhilarating

Excellent work!! I will definitely be flashing to this BIOS after the holidays. Can't wait to OC my card without all the flashing crap!!

Cool, it worked great (79GTXUOV.rom).

I have been running 600/720 for many weeks with no probs, but now I'm at the "optimal detected" 591/784.

3dmark2006 benchmark didn't change but temps are good and seems stable although I admit I had a single blue screen for some odd reason. I will keep an eye out next few days for any issues that will let me know I've gone too far.

One really nice side effect is even with the increased clocks I have no more artifacts in ATI tool, granted I only ran it for a few minutes but before I was getting errors every few seconds. I would guess this has something to do with better memory timings.

Now THAT's a Christmas present!

Edit: At the risk of sounding stupid and a little scared perhaps, did you mod the original 7800GTX bios this quickly or just change a 9 into an 8?
I mean, people have wanted this for SO VERY LONG and you did it like within 2 hours of my plee. (or is it plea? I think it's plea, ok, read plea and not plee, okee? I mean okay (getting all giddy in anticipation) )

I second the sticky.

Also, is anyone elses 7900GS idling lower with the new clocks? Because even after heavy over clocking mine dropped about 5-7C.

I third the sticky! (can I say that? 'third the sticky'? ah forget it).

I hope Juan will continue this endeavour until the next gen graphics cards at least! Tijgerts wants a free 8800GTX in his future M1710! (well, free of clock locks... but just plain free would do too)

Amazing, simply amazing! Sent some money your way, Juan. Everything worked perfect first type... picked up 7 fps in Doom3 Time Demos to put me over the top of the friend I am competing with. He is rather distressed to be beaten, at this moment, by a laptop!
