Good for you, but others here have problems getting a new adapter.

Given how hard it is for us to communicate with their Indian tech support, why should it be any different for them?

I have not forgotten you all. I am expectig to have an official response from Dell on Monday or Tuesday. Will it be the response we want? I do not know. But we should hear something soon. They had a conferance call about this on Thursday or Friday and I was contacted Friday afternoon by mike B. saying he was putting together a response for us.

We shall see what they say.

Randy

Putting together a response eh... sounds like they are trying to devise the best way to tell us we are SOL to me. I surely hope they get us set up with some grounded adapters here. They have already shipped me a new computer in an attempt to fix the issue, but I haven't been home to test it for problems yet. I am pretty sure it will be the same as before... Oh well, in any case what they sent me was a decent upgrade, so I guess I can't complain there.

Given a couple of comments I have had in the past, this would not surprise me in the least. However, I hope this is not the case. As of yet, I still have not heard back from them.

The latest word is Mike is still waiting on confirmation from the engineers. Hopefully there will be a response soon. I STILL do not have a grounded adapter Nor do any of my clients.

Yeah, so much for Monday or Tuesday... Dell is great at stalling important issues it seems. Then again, they probably don't think its that important right now. Just think of the money to be made from out of warranty hardware replacements and new systems when people get sick of the BSOD's.

Oh yeah, by the way... I haven't even been using the new system for 2 days and have gotten the memory parity error BSOD 2 times! I forgot to bring my meter home with me to check this new system though. I will report back on that next week sometime. New system is pretty nice, but Dell screwed me around again on the hardware specs (even though it was expected...) I won't get into that here though, as I have lost all of my patience with Dell over my problems. I could fill a whole new topic at this point, lol.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop Viriiguy!

I understand EXACTLY how you feel KraziePop. Dell has promised me grounded adapters AND a response for a while now. I am pretty fed up with them myself and I doubt if I will ever buy another Dell again. Since this whole mess started, I have stopped buying Dells for my clients as well.

Currently I wish I had bought that Compal Hel80 instead. Unfortunately all any of us can do at the moment is either wait, or call and harass them until they give you a grounded adapter.

Anyone who is rather fleuant in FCC Regulations, please PM me.

i just got an e1705 beginning of feb..however i havent noticed any tingling from the bottom of my laptop...i was wondering how many of you have ur adapters plugged into surge protectors...i dont mean power strips...i mean actual decent surge protectors...my surge protector has a 3 prong plug..so if the adapter is plugged into the surge protector it should ground the circuit...it needs more investigation...might be a temporary fix..not good if you travel with your laptop a lot

guys also read this document from microsoft. Its about memory parity errors.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/101272

there are many reasons for parity error. electrical problems is only one. If your memory was damaged by excess electricity, its fair to assume that your cpu would have been damaged before, because CPU's tend to be more sensitive to voltage/current changes
