3rd party DVD upgrades??
Is it possible to buy a DVD burner from a place like new egg and get it to work in my dell I6000? I currently have a drive and its not working in my computer right now. THe one that came with it does and the new one doesn't work. It doesn't get detected in the BIOS or windows.

are you sure it's not a defective drive? Try it in another system to see if it works in it. However, I'm thinking your new drive is defective especially considering the factory drive works fine.
