Do laptop screens lag? Any good screens/brands out there to look for?

I was looking at the E1705 and then saw a user review over at CNet and he said the E1705 is worthless when it comes to gaming (shooters)! User mentioned how badly the lag was in first person shooters. What kind of refresh rates does laptop screens have?

Are there any good brands/models (e.g. HP9000VT, M1710, etc) to look for?

Im going for a 17" desktop replacement gaming laptop but that one particular review has me worried since all I play is shooters!

TIA
Frag
