Potential new Macbook Pro user
Hello
I am pretty sure I'm going to get a Mac...soon. I have only a few questions. I read somewhere that the new MBP are using some flash memory? (I didn't really understand it because I'm not a heavy tech guy) When leopard comes out, will there be minor hardware upgrade? I also read that intel is going update their motherboards/processors? Will MBP be affected? And when will this happen? By the time Leopard launches? Also, Apple's wireless device is going to support "n"...is this a sign that the Macbooks are getting a minor upgrade? Thank you for your time..!!

1. Huh, Flash Memory on laptops? I haven't heard about it...Only thing I know is that flash memory are like jump drives
2. Yeah the MBP will probably get Santa Rosa. But that won't be out for like 1-3 months. Well it matters when Leopard and Santa Rosa launch, like it depends on their launch time and if one is out but the other is out, ect. 3. You won't need to upgrade anything. With macs you like never need to upgrade the hardware for a new OS, only if its like RAM which is really easy to upgrade. 4. I don't know anything about the last question, sorry |

Hey boom lemmie help out a bit,
He has 1 and 3 pretty much down, mac's rarely need to be upgraded for their new OS (unless you have one from 1999 or before maybe) and none is going to be doing flash memory based laptops for a long while right now. Its about 300 bucks for 32GB which is a complete ripoff for the average user. "Santa Rosa" is Intel's new technology which should be out end of this month, the beginning of next? I am really not sure but I know its soon. Anyway, there may be some hardware updates maybe even new models of mac's, the thing is that apple loves to do is keep us in the dark with about 90 percent of their hardware releases. So, we will probably never know until its ontop of our heads. "N" wireless is now available in every mac that has wireless If your looking to stay on a budget Try the mac refurb section you can get a Macbook Pro in the 1400 range. Prices fluctuate though so check back often Thanks and if you have anymore questions just let us know |

hey thank you very much for all your replies!
I'll probably wait for Santa Rosa because my college semester will end in around 6 weeks. I don't need a new computer till next academic semester once again, thank you
