T43 Videocard replacement

Anyone tried to replace the ATI video card (x300 i think) that comes with the T43 series to something better, something with higher resolution capability, like to the T43P version?

You can't. T4x laptops do not have modular video cards. This means the chip is soldered into the motherboard and you can't do anything about it. Perhaps you can glue a new chip on top, but I doubt it will work...

Newer models (T6x) doesn't either. I believe it's a design consideration to make them so slim. I personally would gladly give up some millimeters to get upgrade options.

yea..which sucks..

The Thinkpad T43 on a Intel Pentium M 2.0 Centrino setup is plenty of power for the average joe and could play most games fairly well. it is just the video card stink, so why buy a new laptop when you can just upgrade the card...

ahha

My T60 I am using now from work, speed wise you notice little to know differences on daily tasks between it and T43. Both with 2GB RAM and 60gb 7200RPM drive.

Yup, video chip has never been replaceable on thinkpads.
