Sager 4750 sleep/hibernate resume problems
Hi, I have a Sager 4750 and have recently been having trouble with the sleep/hibernate function.
For months I put it to sleep every night without any problem... then one day, it stopped recognizing my USB (computer->hub->device) keyboard and mouse upon resuming from sleep. They had always been connected through this hub without any trouble before. Unplugging/replugging the USB hub would fix this problem. Frustrated with this, I started using Hibernate, as it actually shuts down the computer, so it should recognize my USB devices again. Now, whenever I start up my computer, it correctly recognizes all my devices. However, about 1 in 5 times I resume my computer from hibernate, the processor is taken up by spurious hardware interrupts. (Processor usage at 100%, System Idle Process using 99% in task manager, which doesn't make sense, so checking Process Explorer shows 99% of processor going to interrupts. InterruptHook by Alexander M shows that all these interrupts are from address 0xA4) I would prefer hibernate over sleep, but I would love if anyone could give me any suggestions on how to fix either one (unplugging the usb hub is not an option, although I may eventually replace the hub) Also, if anyone has any idea what hardware is causing interrupt 0xA4, that information would be appreciated too. It is not an IRQ address. I have a feeling that it's some hardware going out, but I have no idea how to find out which hardware. Thanks, Chris |
