You are browsing within the review sections of our forums. Content within these sections reflect consumer opinions of laptops. Our admins take the best and most objective laptop reviews and index them here to create a distinct selection of quality reviews with averaged overall ratings. Many of these reviews have benchmarks attached to them which allows for users to compare their laptop's performance with others, and ultimately enables us to provide a sortable list which at a glance show the fastest laptops amongst a variety of applications (gaming, video editing, web browsing, etc...). Help us build a better laptop database by submitting your laptop review.

[/IMG]I first ordered a Dell 9100 about a month ago with all the goodies and waited for two weeks before cancelling my order and opting for a Sager 8970. The reason for the cancellation was the shipping date which was ridiculously far from what I expected. Last week, on Monday, I placed the Order for the Sager 8970 (3.4 GHZ 1.0 Megs RAM) and on friday of that same week I received it.
I never owned a laptop before and I never thought a laptop will outperform my desktop even with more CPU frequency. I basically spend my time designing CAD models using Pro/Engineer. Such programs requires a lot of computing power along with some serious amount of RAM. After receiving the Sager 8970 and installing Pro/Engineer I never went back to my desktop again. the one most important aspect of the laptop that I liked the most is the size of the screen and its quality of course. The second most impressive thing was the power and the speed at which the CAD models were generated, hands down, my desktop (2.53 GHZ, 1.5 DDRAM) was blown away. Of course all the other goodies the laptop comes with from card reader to subwoofer and so on are good but not primordial for what I do. I needed a reliable strong built powerful laptop and the SAGER 8970 more than delivered. THIS LAPTOP ROCKS. Jules |

Hypersonic?
Hey guys why can't we talk about Hypersonic computers? I have the new 17"GZ 7 and it rocks? The 3.4 runs cold which is awsome, it flies with 2 gig ram and duel 60 gig 7200hd's......It's almost the same is Sager but actually works and has good technical support. I got on in 2 min flat several times just to see how long it would take...
PC DOCTORS....OH JULES....YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE TO HYPERSONIC-PC.COM....YOU WILL SEE LATER.... Last edited by PCdoctor; 04-01-2004 at 07:55 PM. |

also. Inferrence is that Sager doesn't work , not so - it works very well. Both Sager and Hypersonic use the Clevos "shell". Going with Sager or going with Hypersonic is of very litle difference (except maybe cost).PC Doc - Sager Rocks. Jules_74 made a wise choice. ![]() |

PC DOCTOR
My first ever computer was an Acer 8086 which should give you an Idea how far my experience with computers goes. I am not interested in colorful cases that cost a dime to make and are sold 1000 times what they're actually worth. the sales representative at PCTORQUE told me that the laptop would ship in 3 to 6 days after the order is placed and he kept his word. I don't care about the aesthetic value of the laptop and I am not interested in the showing off business. this laptops rocks...END OF STORY Jules |

Let's not feed the trolls. Once he gets a little older and some experience under his belt, he'll realize that he was talkin' out o' the wrong end.
