Dim Screen

Hello all-

I've happily owned my 9750 for almost two years now, but am now experiencing a problem. My screen keeps dimming randomly. Often lowering the lid and raising it back up will make the screen temporarily brighter, but only to fade soon after. Occasionally when I boot up the machine the screen will be bright and stay that way.

Do you think it might be the FL Inverter Board? If so, is that something I can replace myself? I did buy a 3 year warranty with the laptop, but have recently been told by PCTorque that my warranty company went bankrupt.

Thanks.
Christian
