HDD for Ultrabay adapter

Is 9.5mm the same as 2.5" notebook hard drive?? I got the adapter with my T61 and want to get a hard drive for it but I am confused. Any advice??

Thanks!!

Most current drives are 9.5mm tall.

Older drives were around 12mm tall.

If you have a modern drive, you have a 9.5mm drive. If your drive is 4 years or or older, you may want to compare it to the internal drive to see if they're the same size. I don't run across many 12mm tall drives, even on the older systems.
