my trusty i6000d blew up, seriously, there was fire and sh!t

so yesterday my lil laptop took a big ol sh!t, and sience it didn't have an ass hole, it made one!!! holy crap batman. has this happened to anyone in the past? it was crazy, big plume of smoke, thought it was going to burn up my tool box. when i saw it was smoking i turned it over and removed the battery with a screwdriver (the release melted) and unpluged it and blew on the fire. now no kick around lappy.. i have to bring my beast to work for a couple of weeks waiting for dell to send me something that i will probably have to return because it has integrated graphics... dam, and i have too much stuff to do right now.

here are some gory pictures

melshaw is cool enough to have people show up to his/her party!
Well at least you were there when it happened. I have a tendancy to leave my lappy running when I leave the house. But not anymore now. That's freaky man.

it is being replaced, hopefully with something decent with non integrated graphics... it was on my tool box, burned a hole in the plastic mat and the laptop cooler, and filled my box with smoke.

old set up...

Yeah, thats pretty lucky it happened when you were there, tools can be replaced under insurance etc,I'd be more worried about my life....if you were asleep.

I must admit, since there have been problems with these roman candle batteries,I haven't left my pc going at night...just in case.

Good stuff woodstock,I got to admit you seem a lot calmer about it than I would've been,I left my laptop going the other night while I was downloading a demo and I was pretty worried about it.....next morning it dawned on me that I should have just pulled the battery out .

Anyway...alls well that ends well

ya, i was mostly pissed off about the lack of information. and how dell lost my first case... that was a pain in the ass, having to re do my whole case again a week later... dell didn't seem to really care about the whole thing, but i have to admit they replaced it with a nice machine, only thing that isn't an upgrade is my original 6000 came with a 9 cell, and they sent a 6 cell, but my extra 6 cell is the one that was melted, so thats what i am sending back anyway...
i am happy now, i think i will give it too my wife after i swap the 120 gig hard drive for my 80 gig in my m1710. she doesn't need too much storage, but i use a bunch of space... i just cant get into vista though, i just get frustrated and format... then reinstall vista later but dump it again... oh well, i have like 10 xp os cd's sitting around so its no big deal

Its not very good when Dell takes such a possibly, life threatening matter so lightly,I really would've thought they would treat you with some serious VIP action......did your battery serial number fall into the ones that were to be replaced free of charge a while back?

I think you probably know my view on Vista, did that guy ever take you up on your kind offer to swap OS disc's when he wanted XP back on his girlfriends laptop?

mmmmmmmmm,jessica alba,lovely in that movie
