Fujitsu Amilo A1630 - dead screen?
I have an Amilo A1630 which seems to have a dead screen. The laptop turns on, lights come on, hard drive and fans make noise, but there is no picture at all (no very faint ghost picture or anything). The laptop doesn't give any POST beeps. Connecting the external video out has no effect - the monitor stays off (as opposed to NO SIGNAL message) and toggling between LCD and CRT with the function key does nothing.
I've tried the hardware reset procedure as instructed on amilo-forum.com with no result. Any ideas what the next step might be? |

Thanks, that doesn't really help. I'm asking for assistance in diagnosing and fixing the problem myself.

Hi, im having the same problem awell with an Acer Aspire 1714smi laptop. I turn the laptop on and the lights come on and you can hear the system booting but no beeps or error sonunds. Also mainly to my dissatifaction the screen stays blank. i think its a graphics problem but im currently wondering if i could reset the bios to default. If so if someone knows how to do this it would be grately appreciated. Im pretty goods with standard pc"s but never taken a laptop apart.
Also after about five mins the machine turns itslelf off, maybe it needs some thermal paste. Confused i am. |
