The issue is the chipset, not the bios. Both computers use the same chipset and hence, neither can address all of your 4 GB of RAM since the system has to address hardware as well.

The two systems are very similar. Someone will eventually figure out how to use the T7600G in an E1705 I suspect. I'd rather have that ability than 4GB of RAM.

i just bought a m1710 mobo. i wish they'd find a way to unlock the multipliers on the 7600, so I won't have to buy a G.

Thanks for this as I'm thinking about buying an E1705 as I don't think I'll be traveling as much as I originally thought with my new job. When I do travel, I'll usually be in areas that I can get to an outlet at nearly all times.

Guess I'll be pouring quite a bit of money to get the "best" out of one.

I HIGHLY doubt the two will be compatible. Dell wasn't happy about us turning E1705's in M1710's, so they sure as hell wouldn't like if we could just upgrade to 8800's instead of buying new laptops. That'd be the shit though...

nope, diff form factor.

even if it is the same form factor the new gen's usually aren't compatible short of a bios hack which will 99.99999% not happen.

the m6300 most likely be able to upgrade to a m3600 which should be based upon the 8800.

The first mission of COD4 sucked, but it gets way better. I'm lucky to get 35FPS with all of the GFX settings at max.

All 7950GTX's are dual pipe, and I believe there's a specific 'For Sale' thread somewhere. The FX3500 is the same card, but it's way cheaper from what I hear.

the fx3500 is the same price usually as the 7950, maybe 50 bux cheaper.

atleast that is the trend on ebay.
