reinstall windows on laptop with no disks

Is there a site that you can download windows xp and use the key on the laptop since I don't have the disks?

unless u have a MSDN subscription that allows u to download most microsoft file images, most (if not all) download links would be illegal.

how about asking a friend for use of his/her disk if u already have the key sticker on ur comnp? much less headache

I think to work it would also have to be exactly the same edition of XP ie including sp2 or the initial release.

Just find out what was on it and get the proper install (OEM, OEM SP2, TCPA), or get a eh-hem one install it and use a key changer to change it to your real key...

Ok I will get a eh-hem one but I have no idea what you mean by use a key changer to change it to your real key, what do I search for, windows key changer?

Also what if I downloaded the trial windows xp, could I just use the key or would it have to be a new key?
