i think i remember reading somewhere that they thought they figured out the code to fix the lid closing issue, in any event, i got these, fixed my occasional lockup issue on 169.04, performance is awesome too

i used 163.44 from lv2g and it never turned off upon close.

the dell drivers is what you need

I wish it worked.

in all the lv2g and other drivers I have tried I have always had this problem.

my friends m1710 i just installed the default dell driver for his 7900gs the other day, and when I closed the lid. the screen turned off.

It's a Dell only issue where nVidia made a fix for in the Dell driver.
Would have been nice if the fix was put in future drivers or an INF setting but alas no.

Only issue is when lid is set to do 'nothing' when closed

as long as you only play games, that are older than 1 year, yes.
however, there's a huge difference in performance when you use
169.04 (tony's) instead of 83.69. i play quake wars a lot, and the newer
nvidia drivers were optimized for this game 8and some others).
i close the lid - the screen goes off. with the laptop from my sig. you can
give it a try, i would wonder if it doesn't work.

Tomorrow (11-15).

XP 32/64-Bit and Vista 32/64-Bit. I would say the expected release time will be (roughly) 11AM PST, so that should give you an idea. As much as I'd like to stay up all night testing, I have changed my ways... lol

Women don't want shite to do with the GFT.

Maybe I do spend too much time on here...

Nah... See, it's the women in AZ... Ya either got the skank-hoes from Phoenix, the Snottsdale girls from Scottsdale, or the lesbians... Not much to choose from.
