I'm looking at 169.13 as we speak, I'll probably do a MobileForce version, so if you wanna try that one, watch for it.

Thanks GForceTony.
I cannot overclock with the 169.09, lets hope we can with this new version.

First, let me say thanks for the driver. My wife and I both have the XPS 1730. The only difference is I have the Extreme and she has the T7700.

Both machines have this driver on them and are working great. I have played World of Warcraft, Bioshock, COD4, Crysis, and UT3 on these drivers and the original drivers. All the games run better, but Crysis still runs the slowest of them all. This is more seat of the pants info and monitoring FRAPS than anything else. Going forward, I'll try to provide more objective feedback... maybe a few gaming benchmarks.

I have also not tried overclocking yet, but will as time goes on.

Again, thanks for the drivers...

Hi, feel free to post your observations and benchmarks in this thread.
We could use more 1730 benchmarks.

Hi Tony,

Noticed one thing in this driver and the previous one (.04) - I have an XPS Gen 2 that is using an Angel USB TV Tuner (the one that Dell sold with the Gen 2) to watch TV through Windows Media Center. With these new drivers (which I love) it says that my Angel USB TV Tuner hardware is not detected. I tried reinstalling the drivers to no avail. Is there a tweak or setting in the driver that may allow me to use the TV tuner with these drivers? Have other people had issues with using tv tuners with these drivers?

Thanks!

I have had freeze ups and crashes on vista with 169.09, so I'm back to 169.04, and awaiting the next set. Too bad .12, .13, and .17 don't look worthwhile.

Hi all,

I'm new to laptops, and my laptop arrived yesterday with no OS and no drivers installed. It has a 512mb 8600M GT and the driver on the driver disc is 156.xx

My question is are these NBF MobilForce drivers modded drivers and not official drivers from Nvidia?

I saw on the Nvidia website that the current driver for Vista 32 bit is 169.25, but none were on the section for the mobile 8 series. Can I use the 169.25 for my 8600M GT, will there be issues?

I'm new to laptop graphics and wasn't sure if I should download modded drivers.

Thanks for your help.

No, you can't use NVIDIA's drivers (from their website) for your card. You have to either get the drivers from here or LaptopVideo2Go. Or, you can just use the drivers that are specifically for your laptop.

169.25 offers virtually zero benefits over 169.04 and 169.09, which is partly why I never released a MobileForce version of drivers beyond 169.09. The other reason is that 169.09 and up don't allow software overclocking, for whatever reason, I'm still not sure.

Bottom line is, if you want to overclock, get 169.04. If not, grab 169.09. Or, if you just want to play it safe, use the drivers for your laptop. Either grab them here, or at LaptopVideo2Go.

Guys,

Many many thanks for your awesome driver. I have a simple question though, I have a sager with 2 2500m's. I don't see an option to use SLI, the XP version had a button to enable it. Am I just missing it?

Again Many Many thanks,

Drac
