Generally, the GeForce GPUs are designed for gaming while the Quadro GPUs are designed for CAD and 3D type applications. If you do a lot of gaming, then the GeForce GPU will work better, if you do a lot of photo, video, CAD work then the Quadro is the one you want.

The 570m is equivalent in performance to an 8600GT (given same VRAM-gddr2 or gddr3). So, the 570m will be better overall. If you want better gaming performance, you can install a modified Geforce 8600GT driver on the Quadro and it will work fine.

BTW, a lot of the quadros and geforces share the same circuitry. I forget the link, but there is a forum thread somewhere that lists which Geforces are equivalent to which Quadros.

EDIT: 1 link at http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=167711

What Z said. The 8600M GS is a pretty crippled dedicated video card, although it does support DX10.

Depends really on what you want to do with your laptop.

Geforce drivers will make a quadro run faster with games? Alot faster or just like a slight difference. I have a fx-4600 on my desktop that I am very displeased while playing crisis only on high settings with under 20 fps, although I only have a pentium d 950 and 2 gigs corsair ram with 3-3-2-8 timing
