5660 Keyboard Problems

Here is one I havent seen before...

One of my 5660s has randomly started to have trouble with the keyboard. It will randomly type keys regardless of using an external keyboard or internal keyboard. I even took out the internal keyboard and it still would randomly type keys. It is sounding like a software problem to me, so I will probably just reformat, however I was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problems. Thanks!

I only experienced this after enabling HT in the bios of my 8887-X and re-installing windows XP pro.

There was a fix (can't remember if it was another BIOS patch or a driver update) and it worked after that.

I saw this once. A guy at work said just about every time he would try to type something, extra characters would show up. Sometimes when he wouldn't be typing, characters would show up. But every time he brought the system in for us to look at, the problem did not occur. We finally figured it out -- he had a microphone plugged in and voice recognition activated. Check that one out.
