I actually got the WUXGA and T8300 from pulls from my other Dell laptops. I'm sure you can find a screen and CPU on ebay at a reasonable price.
And yes, the T7200/7400/7600 are not compatible. |

Curious, did you upgrade from the stock 1440x900 screen? Also, the Sammy you put in, is the light output comparible to the stock screen. Reason I am asking is because I recently bought this laptop and my only experience with screens is from a Dell I9300, and that screen was too dark and the colors were horrible. Any info would help, thanks........

Yes the stock screen was upgraded to the WUXGA screen. I find that the True Life screens are brighter and better IMO

Hello there!
I was changing the CPU in my 6831FX and as if you know there are 2 spirals (or springs, I don't know the actual word) at the CPU. The problem is that the last time I checked, both was gone! I actually don't know how...I was able to find 1 of it in the free HDD space, but I can't find the other one. Because of this I would like to remove the whole back of the laptop to check inside. Can anyone please tell me how can I do this (maybe a guide?) ? It is really important! Thank you! |

I did not find a guide yet, but basically all the screrws on the bottom of the laptop would be a good start, I can't remember how many i did from the top side.
You would think you would hear it rattlling around in there' and then again, your lucky it did not go up in smoke

If your talking about this assembly in the picture, there is only the one spring loaded screw on the end (opposite the fins) the four around the CPU are removeable, for a total of 5 screws on the assenbly

Yes, there is a screw with a spring on the end, but there are 2 other springs at the CPU, at the positiopns marked as "2" and "3"...1 of these springs falled in the laptop and thats why I have to take the whole back off to get this spring out.

Just off topic of the missing spring loaded screws... Anybody successfully oc`ed 8800gts via software? I mean using RivaTuner or so. I am using RivaTuner v2.09 and even though it detects the clocks correctly I do not see difference in FPS after modifying it. Anybody?
Tnx, LtR |

Ehhhh... Did someone disassembled the entire notebook to reach the videocard? Mine is getting very hot here, but I've found so difficult to disassemble everything...
