M15X and MAC OSX.

Any one give this a whirl aswell.

So far most things work.

YOU will need some new NV drivers, Sound works and so BT.

Sadly no Networking as of yet.

Post your outcomes if you have given it a try.

Are you using Leopard or Tiger?

Leopard so far has been one big headache, they released the patch everyone was waiting for last week and it appears to be working. But they have had as many problems as Vista, more so in the way of apps working correctly and it wasnt even driver related.

I am still running Tiger and I refuse to mix OS with my machines. If I need to run Mac Apps I would rather do it on a Mac than PC and visa versa. But I have heard both good and bad about doing mixes so its anyones guess what will happen.

Just an update they did release the new MPB's on 2/26 which has the same cpu as the 15x, so I am waiting to see how the new OS works with it. Right now its still too early in the game for any jumping around.

As far as I know I was the first to put OSX on an AW (Sentia 244) couple years back

It would be very cool if you could post a nice howto and detail the hardware computability issues you have encountered(what works/doesnt) and liinks to key references you used to do it.

That is if your up to it.

Ok first off I had a spare SATA drive that I used as to not mess with the AW operating systems. So I didn't partition or anything like that.

Using the Kalyway 10.5.1 installer.

Select Both Vanilla Kernels. And I selected the Sound option for he Realtek Sound cards.

Didn't install any Video Drivers from the instalation PKG. I installed an Nvidia PKG from here after the installaltion is complete.

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=78980

OK next do the updates from the bay(you will find one as Kalaway and one as just an update with Kernel) and install NVinstallerV31.pkg and all whent well.
Sound is wokring but still no networking.

Wierd thing I noticed was webcam worked out of the box and it's manufactured by Microsoft.

BT works out of the box aswell was able to link up to my BT mouse with no issues at all.

Touch controls work for volume and BT on/off.

DVD drives work Writing and reading.

Haven't testing the Media reader yet. Edit no luck with Media Reader.
So far if I could get the wireless card working or Lan it would pretty much a complete system for me.

EDIT***

Ok I have purchased a Linksys WUSB54GC from walmart and followed these instructions. Read both pages before attempting this. Post #1 and Post #23 are the most important ones). Now I have a Wireless network and working Hackintosh.

And of course no Alien FX, if you want to change anything you have to Log Vista and make the Changes. But they do stick once you make them in Vista.
Spec are below.

AW M15x
15.4" 1440 x 900
X7900 extreme processor
8800m GTX
Intel wirless N card.
Broadcomm Network card.

Yeah the main reason I didn't stick with OS X on my 5550 was the wireless card. I guess the work around is as you did, get a external wireless card that works with OS X... Ah well.

What do you use for a bootloader? Darwin? The Vista one is much prettier, but doesn't seem to work too well with OS X.
