Gateway P-6831FX HD-Tune performance vs security

From my 6831-FX:

2 7200RPM 16m cache drives with writeback enabled:
Transfer Rate Minimum : 49.8 MB/sec
Transfer Rate Maximum : 111.7 MB/sec
Transfer Rate Average : 89.7 MB/sec
Access Time : 14.7 ms
Burst Rate : 736.1 MB/sec
CPU Usage : 11.9%

2 7200RPM 16m cache drives w/ writeback, running Truecrypt with whole disk encryption:
Transfer Rate Minimum : 42.1 MB/sec
Transfer Rate Maximum : 52.1 MB/sec
Transfer Rate Average : 50.4 MB/sec
Access Time : 14.7 ms
Burst Rate : 253.7 MB/sec
CPU Usage : 49.2%
Ouch. Just Ouch.

Only if you had changed it to "Why do clowns scare me?". That's not something I'm proud of.
