NBF MobileForce XP 174.31 (32-Bit/64-Bit) DIRECT DOWNLOAD (32-Bit) DIRECT DOWNLOAD (64-Bit) MIRROR 1 (32-Bit) (NOT AVAILABLE, TO BE ADDED LATER) MIRROR 1 (64-Bit) (NOT AVAILABLE, TO BE ADDED LATER) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 2000/XP 32-Bit/64-Bit Driver Version: 6.14.11.7431 NBF MobileForce Custom INF Tweaks Version: 4.10.101 Driver Date: 02/22/2008 Driver Size (32-Bit): 39,868,737 bytes (38.0MB) MD5 Hash (32-Bit): 53947DED92DA907FD399CE1238E98205 Driver Size (64-Bit): 45,991,856 bytes (43.8MB) MD5 Hash (64-Bit): CE86A1C77409B9ABBA8F41877784587C Please make sure you compare the MD5 Hash and Driver Size of the file you've downloaded to make sure you are getting a Genuine NBF MobileForce Driver, and not one that has been tampered with! ---Release Notes--- Wow, where to start! We finally have upon us, the FIRST MobileForce driver of 2008! It's been well into the making, and frankly, it's been too long. There have been improvements to the MobileForce tweaks since the last release, though nothing truly major or groundbreaking. The driver version/naming scheme for MobileForce drivers is going to be simplified from here on out, dropping the "M4" and "M6" designators, as they're fairly redundant. Overclocking with Dell GeForce 7-Series cards has changed, and has been exposed (see the MobileForce forum on NotebookForums.com for details on that) so once again, overclocking works, and as this driver, 174.31, seems to be a Mobile-Optimized driver, things are just that much better. Over 169.04/169.09, this driver has quite a few improvements, and definitely has some performance and visual quality advantages over its MobileForce predecessor. Take the driver for a spin, have fun, and report back!!! ---Other Information--- If you are updating your driver, please follow the directions in THIS THREAD. If you don't use follow these directions, and whine about problems with the driver not working properly, we're going to ask you to use follow these directions anyways, so please, update your driver properly . . . We will thank you later. Please post RESPONSIBLY!!! We will answer your question as soon as possible. All issues and/or concerns regarding this particular MobileForce driver are to be confined to this thread. Any other topics created regarding issues with this or any other driver will be REMOVED. Please, confine all discussion and feedback to this thread. It makes our job easier, and it makes it easier for others to view feedback on the driver release. ---Supported Video Devices--- Code:

Seems to work fine on My Asus Z71V (6600 vid card) as well. I haven't noticed any performance differences between 169.09 and this one so far.

I've been running this driver for a bit now, the laptoptogo driver. I just noticed the Moblieforce driver and am planing to switch. I do have a question. Can I OC with this driver? I've tried ATTool and it does not seem to work.

You'll need to flash back to the stock (original Dell) BIOS in order to overclock in Windows, but yes, you'll be able to.

Hi Fenuxx - I have my XPS Gen2 in a dual-boot config (Vista and XP), I am using the 174.31 drivers for both OS's... I run my laptop to a DELL 24" HC flat panel display and on Vista I get 1920x1200 native no problem. However, with the XP side of things I get a desktop that "runs off the edges" - if you move your mouse, it will show you a little more desktop. I tried messing with scaling, resolutions, everything, but no dice. I have it at 1600 x 1200 for the time being and although it fits correctly, the image is not as sharp. Do you think going to the standard Dell drivers would solve this or is there any chance I can fix this and keep these drivers?
Thank you for any help you can provide.. |

Ok, I'll try that... but is it ok to plug the DVI into the back of the computer while the computer is on? Would I need to leave the monitor off while I attach it and then turn it on? And does this fix stick after reboots? If it doesn't, it's probably not going to be worth it because i have a dual boot and reboot pretty often...
Thanks again for the help.. |

As for the reboot, I'm not sure. Originally I was using 174.31 from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ and after doing the boot then plug fix it held with reboots, but the 174.31 MobileForce driver did not hold with reboot. I have gone back to the laptopvideo driver, but have not fully tested it. One thing I have notice with the laptopvideo driver is that there is a wired refresh visual glitch that the MobileForce driver did not have. On a side note, is this DVI issue strictly an issue with the diver or is it a wired Dell implementation of the Nvida card that the driver does not like? UPDATE: I tried 174.70 and it was no change. I found the Dell release of 174.31: http://support.dell.com/support/down...&fileid=246680 I installed the Dell 174.31 and me external LCD on the DVI port worked perfectly from the get go and the laptop LCD turns off when closed. I do notice that the visuals on my GUI are not as good as the MobileForce driver. Just an FYI I'm using WindowBlinds 6. Fenuxx what driver source did you base your driver on?

It's technically based off the LaptopVideo2Go release, which (I think) itself is based on the Dell release (don't quote me on that, however). Strange, as everything you said DOESN'T work with the MobileForce release works fine for me on my M1710.
I just tried using my DVI connection a couple of hours ago with my Dell 1907FP LCD, and it works fine (at its native 1280x1024 resolution). The LCD lid shuts off, just like it would with a standard Dell driver as well. ![]()
